Admissions Procedures

You can apply to a biomedical sciences graduate program through the USC Graduate School. You'll also be required to submit additional application materials, including a personal statement indicating your research interests, a letter of recommendation, undergraduate transcripts and standardized test scores.

Your Research Interests

Be sure you explore our faculty research topics to get sense of what kinds of research they conduct. Indicate research areas that you are interested in on your application and include the names of any individual faculty you might like to work with in your personal statement. This will help us ensure you can find an appropriate mentor if you are admitted to the program.

Timeline

Our programs have rolling admissions. However, we encourage you to apply by these dates for full consideration:

  • Ph.D. program: December 15
  • Master's program: February 1

After You Apply

If you are applying to the Ph.D. program you may be invited to come to campus for an interview. During this time you’ll be able to meet with professors whose research interests you and talk with current students about their experiences in our program. While we don’t interview M.S. students, if you would like to visit our campus, please contact us and we’ll be happy to arrange a visit.
