Academic Advising

All student services programs for undergraduates in the Darla Moore School of Business are coordinated and administered through the Moore School's Undergraduate Division in partnership with the University Advising Center.

Professional advisors and administrators are available to business undergraduates on a year-round basis. All Moore School students are assigned to a specific academic advisor.  Advisors provide individual student support to approximately 300 assigned students.

Academic Advising Triangle: The three points of the triangle read: Academic Guidance. Experiential Learning, and Career Readiness. The middle of the triangle has a headline that reads Academic Advising. Under that is a list: Student's Interests and aspirations, Curricular knowledge, Established roles and goals, Resource hub, Advisor availability, and Caring and support

Students are required to meet with their assigned a cademic advisor once a semester to have a required 30-minute meeting. Holistic advising includes:

  • Assisting new students in their transition to college
  • Academic planning and progression
  • Discussion of engagement on campus
  • Career readiness
  • Other opportunities central to college student success

We understand that other concerns may arise during the school year. When the need arises, students can also meet with their assigned advisor during that advisor's drop-in hours that are offered twice a week. Advisors can also be reached by email.
