Getting Started

Our trained staff of mental health professionals provide essential therapy and emotional wellness services for all USC students. For appointments, call 803-777-5223 or login to MyHealthSpace

What We Do

Counseling and Psychiatry Services (CAPS) provides outpatient mental health services to enrolled students at USC Columbia. All our staff are licensed, board certified and appropriately supervised mental health professionals. We deliver services consistent with level of training, experience and competence. When appropriate, our staff will provide a referral for outside services. Additionally, we provide consultations for all members of the USC community (including faculty, staff, students, family members and friends) who need help talking to or assisting a struggling student.

To schedule, reschedule, or cancel any CAPS appointments, please call 803-777-5223 or login to MyHealthSpace.

For 24/7 support, call 833-664-2854 for in-the-moment support from counselors, regardless of the time of day or your location.

CAPS also has embedded counselors in some USC schools. These embedded counselors have unique awareness of each School’s culture, workload, and curriculum, as well as related challenges and common students concerns. If you’re currently enrolled in the Joseph F. Rice School of Law, Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing, International Student and Scholar Support, First-Generation Center and are interested in talking to an embedded counselor within one of these designated locations, visit MyHealthSpace to schedule your appointment.
