Workshops and Presentations
What to Expect
Workshops and presentations make up the majority of Writing Center events and are frequently aimed toward First Year English (FYE) students (students enrolled in English 101 or 102). The events are usually either presentations (for example, students can learn about starting a paper or revising an argument), or workshops (for example, students can learn about thesis statements and get a chance to actually write them). Workshops and presentations not aimed at FYE students are also offered and may be aimed to undergraduates in general, to graduate students, or to a general audience. Alternatively, they may be aimed based on genre of work, such as journal articles or creative writing.
