Fall Application Deadlines:

  • Open March 1 – June 30 - Rolling Admission
  • Final deadline: June 30

  • 3 Letters of Recommendation (from a doctorally prepared registered nurse or physician) – must complete our Recommendation Form

  • Current Unencumbered RN Licensure in State of Practice

Entry Options

The DNP program offers two entry points for students:

  • Bachelor's entry – a Registered Nurse (R.N.) who holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program
  • Master's entry – a Registered Nurse (R.N.) who holds a master's degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program

A Note from the Program

The Nursing Education, Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P) is designed to prepare professional nurses to enter educational roles and work within both colleges and universities as well as hospital systems. Graduates of the program may be eligible to sit for the nurse educator certification examination.

This online program is available in states whose licensing boards approve distance learning. While the majority of students are from SC and surrounding states, the USC College of Nursing is not currently authorized to provide this program in all states. Please refer to our State Authorization website for a list of all available states.
