Why did you choose USC Rice School of Law?
Coming from an undergraduate environment where community was everything, I knew I wanted to find that same feeling in law school. There was no place where I felt more at home than USC Rice School of Law. Everything the school does is intentional. From the moment you step on campus for a visit through graduation and beyond, the faculty, staff, students, and alumni work together to make this feel like home, not just for three years, but for life.
What advice would you give a first-year law student?
Do not be afraid to make mistakes.
Law school can feel stressful, intimidating, and full of unknowns, but one thing you
will quickly realize is that everyone around you is experiencing those same feelings.
You are never as alone as you think, and you have an incredible support system here.
Things will be new. They will be different. And that is completely okay. You will
figure out what study methods work for you, what opportunities excite you, and how
to make these three years your own.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
More than anything, I am proud of stepping outside my comfort zone.
For me, law school has been about saying "yes" to opportunities. I have challenged
myself to try new things, meet new people, and pursue experiences that I never would
have imagined before starting law school. Whether that meant joining organizations,
running for the Student Bar Association, competing in the Joint Journal Writing Competition,
or confidently networking with attorneys, each experience has helped me grow.
