The University of South Carolina is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible university environment for all qualified individuals with disabilities. The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX provides oversight and review of the accommodations process.

Resources

Our policy -- Access for Individuals with Disabilities -- outlines procedures for providing reasonable accommodations to all members of the USC community.

Reasonable accommodations are determined through an interactive process involving collaboration with the individual requesting accommodations, the designated office, and any other relevant units or programs.

Academic accommodations

Students needing academic accommodations including testing, meal plan modifications and housing should contact the Student Disability Resource Center.

Employee accommodations  

USC employees needing workplace accommodations should reach out to the Employee Relations office for more information about requesting and required forms.

Student employee accommodations

USC student employees -- including student workers, Teaching Assistants and Graduate Assistants -- needing academic accommodations should contact the Student Disability Resource Center.

Accessible parking

Individuals needing accessible parking should visit Parking and Transportation Services to register their placard and learn more about the new ADA regulations on campus.

Individuals needing assistance with accessibility for USC athletics events should contact the Gamecock ticket office.

Healthcare providers and clinics  

Individuals needing help with providers should visit the Center for Health and Well-being, the Montgomery Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, or Psychological Services Center on Devine Street. You can also contact your service provider directly.

Temporary conditions and injuries

USC students experiencing a temporary condition or injury may qualify for assistance if the condition or injury negatively impacts your ability to succeed in the classroom.  If you have any questions, please contact the Temporary Conditions and Injuries Coordinator.

Guest accessibility

The Visitor Center at the University of South Carolina works to offer accessible visits that enhance your campus experience while accommodating for the varying needs of guests. For questions about service availability or the physical access provided, please contact the Visitor Center at least two weeks in advance of your visit.

 

Accommodations Appeal Process

If an individual requesting accommodations would like to appeal an accommodation decision determined by a designated office, they may appeal to the ADA Coordinator or designee in the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX.
