Fall 2025 University 101 Peer Leaders have the opportunity to apply to be a Peer Leader + in spring 2026 or a Returning Peer Leader and/or a Senior Peer Leader in Fall 2026.
The Peer Leader + interest form will be available in Mid-October.
The application to serve as a Returning Peer Leader and/or Senior Peer Leader will be available on Monday, September 29, 2025. The submission deadline is Friday, October 31.
Peer Leader +:
The Peer Leader + program is an opportunity for fall 2025 University 101 Peer Leaders to provide support, information about events, and university resources to their Fall UNIV101 sections during spring 2025. The goals of extending the U101 Peer Leader role into the spring are to increase first-year students' sense of belonging, awareness of utilization of campus resources, and confidence and preperation as they enter the second year.
Requirements: In this role, the Peer Leader + will:
- Conduct 1-1 Meetings during the spring semester with their current U101 students
- Engage with their class through GroupMe or another communication channel
- Host a reunion meal/event (paid for by U101)
Benefits: In addition to the continued impact peer leaders will have on their U101 students, peer leaders serving in this role also receive $500 throughout the spring semester.
Returning Peer Leaders:
Returning peer leaders teach U101 a second time and are able to teach with their current co-instructor or be matched with another co-instructor. Returning Peer Leaders do not enroll in EDLP 520.
Senior Peer Leaders:
Senior Peer Leaders have the opportunity to serve as a co-instructor for a section of EDLP 520. Senior Peer Leaders also co-facilitate fall training, support peer leader recruitment efforts, and attend senior peer leader team meetings.
