headshot of Goli Jalilvand

Golareh Jalilvand

Dr. Golareh Jalilvand is the principal investigator of the Laboratory for Materials Properties and Structures (LMaPS). Her research lies at the intersection of electrochemical engineering and materials science, with a focus on advancing the fundamental understanding of how materials dynamically evolve under electrochemical operation. She is particularly interested in conversion redox reactions and investigates the coupling between multiscale material structures and phase evolution, examining how chemical, structural, and mechanical properties of materials change in operando. With a special focus on next-generation battery technologies, Dr. Jalilvand's team advances the full battery innovation cycle, from the design and synthesis of advanced electrode, separator, and electrolyte materials to electrochemical performance evaluation, device development, and battery materials recycling. The group's research spans high-performance lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and metal-sulfur battery systems, with the goal of enabling efficient, durable, and sustainable energy storage technologies.
