Background
Giuliano Marodin is a clinical professor and Continental Chair Professor in Operations and Supply Chain at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. Prior to joining
                                 the Moore School, he was a visiting professor at Fisher College of Business at the
                                 Ohio State University as a Fellow of the Center of Operational Excellence. He received
                                 his Ph.D. and master’s degree in industrial engineering and a B.B.A. degree from the
                                 Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He also worked at the same university
                                 as an adjunct professor for the business school (2007-2009) and for the Industrial
                                 Engineering Department (2013-2014), teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on
                                 lean and operations management. He was a lecturer for several master degree programs
                                 in Brazil.
Marodin also has more than 14 years of industry experience. He has worked with large,
                                 medium and small firms both in Brazil, through the Lean Institute Brazil (a member
                                 of the Lean Global Network) and his own consulting firm, and in the United States
                                 through the Center for Operational Excellence at the Fisher College of Business. These
                                 projects typically involved leading workshops and guiding firm employees on their
                                 efforts to improve internal processes and better integrating with customers and suppliers.
Research Interests
His research interests are in Lean and Operational Excellence in Supply Chain Management. His research has been published in operational management journals, such as International Journal of Production Research, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management and International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, as well as in proceedings of POMS and INFORMS annual meetings. Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) recognized him with the 2013 Emerging Economies Doctoral Student Award.
