Career Advising

Getting help from informed, reliable, and trusted sources will enable well-informed career decisions and guide your professional development.

What We Do

Career Advising and Professional Development supports the process of building the “KASH” – the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and habits of practice for your career in medicine.  Building the KASH, also known as competency, is a lifelong process.

General advisors and specialty advisors will support each medical student’s journey.  The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia utilizes the educational program objectives to optimize the personal and professional development of medical students as they develop their professional identity as future physicians.
